Vinod Mehra was an Indian film actor who was born in Amritsar on 15 February 1945. He started off his career as a child actor in the film Ragini which was released in 1958. From his young age he was keenly interested in acting and wanted to become an actor one day. He made his debut as a lead actor in 1971 with the film Ek Thi Gita which was a hit film. He was known for his choice of choosing versatile roles in films.

Vinod Mehra was born in Amritsar Punjab in a Punjabi middle class family. The name of his father was Parameshwaridas Mehra and name of his mother was Kamala Mehra. After his birth and Partition of India and Pakistan his family shifted to Bombay ( Now Mumbai). Because his father has his work there. He has a sister named Sharda who has been seen in many Hindi films of that time. He went to Sacred Heart Boys High School which was located in Santacruz to complete his schooling. Later he went to St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, where he got his bachelor degree.
